Bill Gunther grew up in a construction family. His father was a general contractor who built homes and commercial buildings. Bill has over 35 years of construction experience including: working as a licensed electrician, union carpentry, carpenter foreman and building superintendent on major projects.
After working with his dad’s company for several years, Bill became a police officer in New York and retired after 23 years of service. During his years with the PD, he also worked as a licensed general contractor with his father and on his own.
Upon retirement from the police department, he relocated to the Nashville area and attended and graduated the Midwest Home Inspectors Institute. He has successfully taken the National Home Inspectors Examination and was a Certified Member of ASHI and is a Tennessee licensed Home Inspector (TN HI 53). He attended Auburn University College of Engineering and is an EPA listed Radon Measurement Operator. He is a graduate of EDI (Exterior Design Institute) and is certified as a third party Synthetic Stucco Inspector and for Certified Moisture Analysis.
Bill had been active in the ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors) on the local level and was the founder the Mid-Tennessee Chapter. His strong feelings about the importance of having properly trained professional home inspectors, to protect buyers in the process of purchasing a home, lead him to become an instructor for Kaplan/ITA Professionals where he taught the Home Inspection Course for aspiring home inspectors. Bill for several years worked actively in formulating and getting legislation passed for the licensing of home inspectors in the State of Tennessee.
Combining investigative skills with his knowledge of buildings and their systems enables him to better serve his clients.
